As Director of Soccer, Joe will be responsible for the assessment of every player who is accepted onto the Soccer Icon programme.

Joe will also be responsible for promoting Soccer Icon players to all USA college coaches.

He will also be the main contact for all recruiting USA coaches and will be delighted to assist every coach to find the right player for their programme.

History

As a player Joe is a former captain of Premiership champions Chelsea FC and made nearly 300 appearances for the club between 1983 and 1989. He is still in the top 50 all time appearances for the club.

In 1989 Joe was transferred to Charlton Athletic FC for £650,000 which was then a club record transfer fee. After leaving Charlton, Joe then went to Watford FC for £450,000 where he was also club captain. He then went back to Scotland to play for Falkirk FC and was club captain.

Alex Miller,then took him to Hibernian FC and Joe finally finished his long and illustrious career at St. Mirren FC. Joe has also represented his country at International level having made 12 appearances for the Scotland under 21s.

His combined transfer fees total over £1.25 million.

After hanging up his boots Joe began his coaching career as the Under 21 coach at St Mirren. Joe then moved to Millwall FC where he was Reserve Team Manager for two seasons.

Joe holds the UEFA "A Licence" coach. By using his vast experience and knowledge of the game, he is in an ideal position to advise players about their future career as a footballer.

Joe has also experienced "soccer" in the USA, he spent a few months at New York Cosmos in 1979, alongside legends such as Franz Beckenbauer, Carlos Alberto, Georgio Chinnaglia and Fransisco Marinho.

He has coached at clubs/colleges/high schools in Arizona,Florida and North /South Carolina.

His experience is vast and Joe has played 769 league and cup games at the very top level of football in England and Scotland.
